David R. Smith was born in Pineville, Kentucky. He was admitted to the bar in 1979 for the State of Georgia. His education includes University of Georgia (A.B., cum laude, 1976) and the University of Georgia (J.D., 1979). He is a member of the Atlanta Bar Association, the State Bar of Georgia, the Savannah Bar Association, the Georgia Defense Lawyers Association and the Defense Research Institute.
