Robert C. Hughes, III

ROBERT C. HUGHES, III was born in Macon, Georgia. Robert was admitted to practice law in Georgia in 2004 and South Carolina in 2005. He graduated from the University of Georgia (B.A., cum laude, 2001) and the Walter F. George Law School, Mercer University (J.D., cum laude, 2004). Robert was a member of the Mercer Law Review and authored the case note "Nothing Lost, Nothing Owed: Supreme Court Upholds State IOLTA Program in Brown v. Legal Foundation of Washington," 55 Mercer. L. Rev. 815 (2004). He also served as an editor for the Journal of Southern Legal History. Other law school honors include: Brainerd Currie Honor Society; Guerry R. Moore Insurance Award; Faculty Award for Outstanding Achievement in Legal Writing; and graduating in the top 10% of his class. He presently serves on the Executive Council for the Georgia Young Lawyers Division and he is a member of the Executive Committee of the Savannah Bar Association. Robert previously served on the Board of Directors for the Georgia Young Lawyers Division in 2009 and 2010, and he was President of the Savannah Young Lawyers Division from 2008 to 2009.
